PocketDrive
Privacy Policy for PocketDrive.
PocketDrive is provided by Ramos Apps Studio. This Privacy Policy explains how PocketDrive handles information when you use the app.
Summary
PocketDrive is a local file transfer app. It lets you share selected folders from your Android device with other devices on the same local network. PocketDrive does not require you to create an account with Ramos Apps Studio, and Ramos Apps Studio does not operate a cloud server for your file transfers.
The app may show advertisements through Google Mobile Ads. Google and its partners may collect and use certain data for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, and service operation.
Information PocketDrive Handles
PocketDrive may handle the following information on your device:
- Files and folders you choose to browse, share, upload, download, rename, or delete.
- Folder sharing preferences, including selected shared folders and whether a folder is enabled for sharing.
- File metadata used inside the app, such as file names, file sizes, folder sizes, file counts, and modified dates.
- App settings, such as port number, theme preference, onboarding status, authentication setting, username, and generated or user-entered password.
- Local network information, such as your device's local IP address, so other devices on the same network can connect to PocketDrive.
- Connection information from devices that access your PocketDrive server, such as local IP address, browser user agent, last activity time, and transfer progress.
How PocketDrive Uses Information
PocketDrive uses this information to:
- Display files and folders in the app.
- Let you choose which folders are shared.
- Start a local web server for file transfer on your local network.
- Authenticate nearby users when authentication is enabled.
- Show active connected devices and transfer progress.
- Save your app preferences locally on your device.
- Maintain app functionality, security, and reliability.
Local File Transfers
PocketDrive transfers files directly between your Android device and another device on the same local network. Files are not uploaded to Ramos Apps Studio servers.
PocketDrive's local file sharing server uses HTTP on your local network. Local transfers are not end-to-end encrypted by PocketDrive. You should only use PocketDrive on private, trusted networks and should keep authentication enabled unless you intentionally want open access on your local network.
Anyone who has access to your local network and your PocketDrive address, username, and password may be able to access shared folders while the server is running.
Permissions
PocketDrive may request the following Android permissions:
- Internet and network access: used to run the local file transfer server and allow devices on the same network to connect.
- Wi-Fi and network state access: used to detect the device's local network address.
- Photos, videos, audio, and storage access: used to let you browse, share, upload, download, and manage files.
- Manage all files access: used only when you choose to grant broad file access so PocketDrive can share and manage normal user folders on the device.
PocketDrive uses file access permissions only to provide file browsing, folder sharing, and file transfer features that you control.
Advertising and Third-Party Services
PocketDrive uses Google Mobile Ads to display advertisements.
Google Mobile Ads may automatically collect and share certain information, including IP address, user product interactions, diagnostic information, device identifiers, account identifiers, advertising data, and performance data. Google uses this information for purposes such as advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, and improving ad services. According to Google's documentation, data collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit.
You can learn more from Google:
PocketDrive does not control Google's data collection or processing. Your use of ads in PocketDrive may be subject to Google's privacy policies and terms.
Data Storage
PocketDrive stores app settings and shared folder configuration locally on your device. This may include your authentication username and password for the local file sharing server.
Ramos Apps Studio does not receive or store your files, folder list, transfer history, username, or password on its own servers.
Data Sharing
Ramos Apps Studio does not sell your personal information.
PocketDrive may share data in the following limited ways:
- With nearby devices on your local network when you start the server and choose folders to share.
- With Google Mobile Ads and related Google services when ads are loaded or displayed.
- When required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid government request.
Data Retention and Deletion
PocketDrive keeps local settings and folder configuration on your device until you change them, clear the app data, or uninstall the app.
You can stop sharing files at any time by stopping the PocketDrive server, disabling shared folders, disabling permissions, clearing app data, or uninstalling the app.
Files transferred through PocketDrive remain on the sending or receiving devices unless you or another authorized local user delete them.
Children
PocketDrive is not directed to children under 13. Ramos Apps Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review the issue.
Security
PocketDrive includes local network access controls, folder path checks, and optional basic authentication. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for using PocketDrive only on networks and with devices you trust.
International Users
Your information may be processed on your device, by nearby devices on your local network, and by Google or its service providers when ads are used. Google may process information in countries other than your own according to its privacy policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be identified by the "Last updated" date above.
